Flanker Press closed for holiday season

The Flanker Press office will be closed for the holiday season. We will be closing at 12:00pm Friday, December 23, and re-opening on Wednesday, January 4th, at 9:00am.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has picked up a book, come out to a signing, shared a story on our social media, or has supported local Newfoundland and Labrador authors and artists in any way, we greatly appreciate all of you, and can’t wait to share what we have in store for next year. We’ll have new books from some of your favourite authors, as well as some debuts novels from some fresh faces, very exciting things happening in 2023.

From all of us at Flanker Press, Garry, Margo, Jerry, Nick, Shelley, Caroline, Pat, and Peter, we wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a very Happy New Year.

Flanker Press is a bright spark in the Newfoundland and Labrador publishing scene. As the province’s most active publisher of trade books, the company now averages twenty new titles per year, with a heavy emphasis on regional non-fiction and historical fiction.

The mission of Flanker Press is to provide a quality publishing service to the local and regional writing community and to actively promote its authors and their books in Canada and abroad.

Now located in Paradise, Flanker Press has grown from a part-time venture in 1994 to a business with eight full-time employees. In the fall of 2004, Flanker Press launched a new imprint, Pennywell Books. This imprint includes literary fiction, short stories, young adult fiction, and children’s books.
