1. What was your first photograph in print?

Some of the pictures in this book in my college alumni magazine.

2. What other jobs have you had besides being a photographer?

Ski bum, photography teacher, history teacher, art teacher, community organizer, program evaluator, curriculum developer, picture researcher, and journalist.

3. Who is your favourite photographer(s)?

That depends on what week you ask me. This week it is Walker Evans.

4. What is your favourite book(s)?

Any one I actually take the time to finish. Mostly non-fiction but I did like the Harry Potter series.

5. What do you like to do in your free time?

Lots of craft projects, sports activities, walking the dog.

6. What is your favourite food?

Stewed fish, ice cream.

7. What kind of music do you listen to?

Mostly folk, from Emmy Lou Harris to Bob Dylan.

8. What is your favourite movie(s)?

Not The Shipping News.

9. What city/country would you most like to visit and why?

Egypt, because I have always been interested in the ruins from the time of the pharaohs.

Why didn’t you move to Newfoundland full time?
