Where do ideas come from?

I've published five books, and written many more that will never see the light of day, for various reasons. Whenever I'm interviewed - whether on t.v., on the radio, or in print, I invariably am asked the same question: Where do you get your ideas?

I wondered, "What if I interviewed myself?"
